PRINCIPAL NOTES Kitty Logan
How about that Geography Bee? I was so impressed
with the knowledge of the contestants. Please help me
congratulate Reed Juliussen who will take a test to
qualify for the State Geo Bee. If for some reason,
Reed is unable to take the test, Jayson Puckett will fill
in for him.
Science Night has been postponed from Friday,
January 25 to Friday, February 22. We are hoping
that the government shutdown will be over so we can
have Campbell Creek Science Center help us present
to our students and families.
Our Family Fun Night is planned for Friday, January
25. A movie and uniform swap is slated. Free
popcorn to all participants. Join us. I promise you, it
will be a blast!!!
Did you know?:
Our families averaged 13.55 volunteer hours in the
second quarter. That is well above the 8 hours
families should have by the end of December. Thank
you for your continued support. I am convinced that
our school is so successful because our parents are
involved.
I am willing to come in on the weekends and evenings
to help parents get their volunteer hours in for the
year. Just send me an email or call the school to make
arrangements.
Geography Bee News Mrs. Copping
On Friday, January 18, 2019, Eagle Academy held their
annual Geo Bee competition. All the contestants were very well
prepared, and it was amazing to hear the facts they recalled as
they answered questions in nine rounds.
Reed Juliussen won 1st place with a total of 13 correct answers.
Jayson Pucket won 2nd place with a total of 12 correct answers.
Sylvia Mullen won 3rd place with a total of 8 points.
Before January 31st, Reed will take an online test of geography
facts. The highest scoring 100 students from all over Alaska will
then compete in the State Geo Bee on March 29th in
Anchorage. Good luck, Reed!
Student Council News Ms. Deming
Our next spirit day is Freaky Friday/Mismatch day on
January 25
th
. Students dress as teachers; teachers dress
as students, or students may dress in a crazy
mismatched outfit. All outfits should be appropriate
for school and students who do not wish to participate
must be in uniform.
