Job description
Job Title: Brand and Design Manager
Reporting To: Head of Marketing
Reports: Graphic Design Assistant
Department: Marketing (External Affairs)
Location: Flexible London Office or home based
Main Job Role:
To drive the visual identity of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust brand, aligning with the brand strategy, to meet the
Trust’s objectives through oversight and delivery of all design and visual identity work for online and offline
marketing and communication materials.
Main Duties:
1. Manage the day-to-day design of the Trust’s marketing, communications, and informational materials,
including print publications and online design in line with brand guidelines.
2. Manage high quality and innovative design for all projects meeting (or exceeding) the expectations of
stakeholders.
3. Provide line management direction and support to the Graphic Design Assistant and external agencies
and freelancers. This will involve using the Trust’s performance appraisal framework to achieve team and
individual targets.
4. Oversee and continually seek to improve the efficiency of the production processes used by the
Marketing team.
5. Take the lead on creative development and execution for some key specific campaigns and projects as
agreed with the Head of Marketing.
6. Work with the Content Marketing Manager on the Trust’s photography needs and brand champions
programme so teams can self-serve with clear guidelines
7. Liaise with internal stakeholders and provide technical expertise in online (digital) and print design to
support their objectives in alignment with the External Affairs strategy.
8. Liaise with external suppliers to scope and commission services ensuring that work is compliant with the
Trust’s visual identity, specified design and brief requirements.
9. Lead on liaising with the Trust’s print management supplier to ensure printed materials are delivered
within specified requirements and manage cost control.
10. Responsible for the development and implementation of templates for routine design tasks and/or
projects, encouraging their use by colleagues.
11. Keep abreast of developments in design, marketing, and digital technologies within and outside of the
charity sector and identify opportunities for the Trust to exploit.

12. Collaborate with other teams across the organisation to produce high quality material that consistently
promotes the Trust and is on brand.
13. Support the Marketing (and wider) Team by providing cover for the Graphic Design Assistant and others
e.g., responding to queries/email, collaborating on project work, substituting at meetings, and as
directed.
14. Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the skills, abilities, and position of the role.
