CONTROLLING RUST AND

CORROSION

It’s a fact that, when bare metal is exposed to the

atmosphere, oxidation will occur. It will appear as

rust on ferrous metals or corrosion on non-ferrous. If

you could examine a rust or corrosion “cell”, you

would find all the components of a battery: an anode,

cathode, electrolyte and path of current. Isolate or

eliminate any one of these, and you kill the "battery."

CorrosionX eliminates two…it displaces the elec-

trolyte and it blocks the path of current. Because it

displaces moisture and oxidation, CorrosionX actual-

ly restores moisture-damaged electrical and electron-

ic equipment. As a result, CorrosionX is an ideal

product to use during flood recovery efforts.

one on the right was left untreated and both were

sprayed with seawater every day for two weeks. Note

the remarkable difference.

FTFC vs. BARRIER COATINGS

In controlling corrosion, the traditional approach has

been to cover the metal surface with a barrier coating

such as paint or wax. Now, CorrosionX offers a space-

age solution, featuring the latest in Fluid Thin-Film

Coating (FTFC) technology that works far better than

barrier coatings or other typical corrosion "inhibitors."

With regular applications, it has proven to be extremely

successful in controlling corrosion, even under the most

extreme conditions.

Barrier coatings are designed to keep moisture off the

metal and prevent oxidation. It’s a good theory and

there are some good products; however, there are major

drawbacks. Frequently, the wax coating left behind is

porous and allows moisture to penetrate to the surface

that’s supposedly being protected. If applied over exist-

ing corrosion, it locks the electrolyte in and corrosion

continues to grow. What’s worse, the rust or corrosion

may be hidden by the coating until it’s done serious

damage. By contrast, CorrosionX, with FTFC technol-

ogy, has no wax, tar, Teflon or silicone. When applied

to existing corrosion, it displaces electrolyte (even salt-

water) and leaves an ultra-thin, high-dielectric film that

stops the corrosion process dead in its tracks.

POLAR BONDING

Components of CorrosionX have the unique capability

to "Polar Bond" to metal, like a magnet (see illustra-

tion). This action not only stops or prevents rust and

corrosion, it affords exceptional and long-lasting lubri-

cation, better than even Teflon-fortified products. The
